Life and human nature can boggle the mind. Throughout my life I have been generally conscious of being a responsible consumer, but I have to admit I've had my moments. I think that sometimes in our modern world, we are "too busy" to think about everything. And recycling definitely has a negative affect on the present, but it is going to greatly affect future generations. And in our "busy" world, we often don't have time to bother with these things.
I think it is sad how we, including me, can so easily disregard these issues. There are actually people that will throw away a recyclable container into a regular trash can, when there is a recycling can right next to it. I've seen it...a lot!
As my knowledge & insight on the whole recycling thing grows, I as a human being feel it is 100% my responsability to make sure I am doing what I can to help the cause. As an individual it seems like it doesn't always make a difference. But those individuals that have fought for such causes over the years, are the same individuals who can be proud of the now Green Movement. Our nation and our world is beginning to focus as a team to fix/improve/education consumers.
I want to thank all those individuals that have fought and continue to fight. Generally I believe people do come around. They do see eventually. I know I did.
I have been collecting fire & light products for years. Their recycled glass dinnerware is amazing and beautiful!!!

From the 2008 catalog:
"Fire & Light hand poured glassware has a way of drawing the eye, enchanting the viewer with a unique play of light that filters through its rich spectrum of colors and textures.
Our crafts people at Fire & Light handcraft artful pieces of glassware one by one, much as it has been done for centruies, preserving the rich tradition of American hand pressed glass, and utilizing a once wasted resource...post consumer recycled glass*.
The result is a unique line of beautiful glassware that is strudy, dishwasher safe, and at the forefront of sustainable living. Created for both form and funtionality, our glassware is known for its vibrant color and texture. There is nothing else like it."
